I am running some xbench score on the two powerbooks, but i know the 15" will get better marks because the 12" does not have a L3 cache and is a lower processor... but the memory is DDR if they did not do that it would be faster then my 15" powerbook.

I will post both benchmarks when i get a hold of my cousin's new powerbook to post her xbench score.

The 12-inch PowerBook's extra memory bandwidth is not utilized.

The benches have been done a few times. Not surprisingly, the TiBook beats the 12" PB quite handily.

Macworld has just done the 12 vs 15 vs 17.

The 17" on average is a little bit faster than the 15, but the 15 beats the 17 in a few tests. Both beat the pants off the 12.

BTW, I get an Xbench score of 90 with the latest release of the software on my GigaBook 15".

I have to know- is this a typo or do you call it a "labtop?" I have run into several people in the past that insisted on calling it a "labtop" and I could never figure out why. I what way does it make sense?

I'm honestly not busting your chops, I'm just curious.

My 12" PB pulled down an Xbench of 78.55 (but that score was after my HD upgrade, I've never ran it before). That's quite respectable for this model, in comparison with all the other scores. It's about right in line with the 867MHz TiBooks.

But, FWIW, I think most benchmarks are worthless. All that matters is if you get your work done, and get it done efficiently. In those areas my PB does a great job.
