So, I'm looking to buy a 512mb piece of RAM for my iBook800 and was wondering where the best place to get it is online besides store.apple.com

any recommendations? thanks in advance.

Cheaper than Crucial, and they stand by their products. I've gotten all my RAM from them, and I've never had a problem.

What I really like about this site is that you select the model computer you have and they tell you what memory works with it.

That's why I was able to get a 512MB module for my RevA iBook - when I could not find *any* references anywhere about the RevA using a 512MB module.

You'd be better off putting that 512mb in the 700mhz model...

I bought a 512 MB for $109 US from www.macramdirect.com and received the RAM, in Canada, only 4 days later. I sent a couple of email with questions and the person responded quickly. Excellent service and the RAM works perfectly!
