Guys, just a quick question to all of you. I am looking at selling my powerbook and someone on these boards is interested in buying. They suggested we use an escrow service. I have never used those before. I understand how they work. Normally I take good pics, give the buyer addresses and phone numbers where I can be reached, and he can test them beforehand and after and that is normally ok. I can totally understand he wants to be protected as well as I from scams so this is not a jab at him. He will probably read this post and I want him to know not to take offense at this as I trust the opinion of the people that post on here. Forgot to mention, this transaction is totally in the US. Heck, I could drive the 6 hours to just meet him in person..

What do you guys think?

Escrow is cool. It protects you as well as him, so you're right in taking no offence.

If you're really happy in driving 6 hours I am sure he'd be only too happy to meet you in person.

Drive to meet each other.

Throw good music in and drive and do the transaction in person.

If someone would rather do escrow than drive to meet then there's something wrong. I know a couple of people, both a buyer and a seller, who were screwed through escrow.

The drive is worth the peace of mind -- especially if you both drive and meet halfway.

Good luck.

Yep, thats what I am thinking too.. Seeing how I have purchased tons of music through the apple store and bought the new Audi; a nice drive up 95 might be fun..
