I have a 17" PB less than a week, but also an older iBook (dual USB) - I travel often and was wondering if its safe to use the 17" PB powersupply with my older iBook. I'm not sure they use the same or different power requirements, I didn't want to do any damage to my old, but faithfull icebook.

You can use the 17" PowerBook Power Adapter on the iBook, but not vice-versa. The 17inch Powerbook adapter is 65W and the iBook adapters are 45W. The 65W will accomodate the 45W.

chipchen - Thanks for you advice, that's a relief, now I need only pack one powersupply and plugs and not 2 different sets.
