Not sure what the issue is here. When I'm on AOL (newest version for OS X), and when I'm typing and email, I notice that in mid-sentence (even as I type this) the text will randomly jump back two lines into other sentences and I'll be having to constantly stop and re-fix my typing and move the mouse to the position it should be in. As I type this message every now and then the same thing happens--sometimes it'll scroll down to the bottom of the page or to a different application. I have no idea what to do as I am only typing the keys.

Are you sure you're not touching the trackpad? There is a preference to "ignore the trackpad while typing." Is that on? You might try it.

I never got that feature--whenever im tying and the "ignore trackpad while tying" is checked, my trackpad is still respondant to my fingers. Also, when "ignore trackpad when mouse is present" is checked, it it still usable--i dont get that either. I use an apple pro mouse

I think that the "ignore trackpad while typing" preference needs to be more effective. I too sometimes experience a jump when typing if I have a very slight lag between key strokes and bump the trackpad.
Apple should make this more effective because it really is annoying when it happens. Just a slight increment in the trackpad outage after keystrokes should fix the problem.

Same on 15". I found it really only happens when I use Apple Mail though. The "ignore" function really doesn't work. I also found that moving the cursor to somewhere AFTER my typing helps...ie: move it to just above the dock or drag button...

This is a common issue on all notebooks. On the P3 Dell's at school it's horendous. In Word you can't get through 2 sentences without it jumping somewhere else and you'll be typing in paragraph 3 when you meant to be in paragraph 5...so irritating. Apple's improved on this with the "Ignore Trackpad While Typing" feature, but it's far from perfect. The trackpad should be completely disabled while keys are being pressed, and at least have a 1 second turn-off from the last keystroke before it becomes active again.

i would also guess you may be hitting the arrow keys. I do this, not by fault of the PB, but because of poor hand placement on keyboard.
