Hi everyone,

I just bought the Altec Lansing ATP3 (2.1 speaker system) for my new Pismo. When the computer is plugged into AC and the speakers are on, there is a low buzzing sound from the subwoofer. The buzzing stops if I unplug the Powerbook and use battery power. Any ideas on how to get rid of the buzzing?

I've already tried switching polarities with yo-yo adapter. The speaker AC plug is keyed.

My father is a former electrical engineer, and thinks the AC to DC converter of the computer is noisy. Does the yo-yo output DC? I could try an old wallstreet brick adapter or a different yo-yo. Also, the powermac g4 guys use "groud loop isolator." Any thoughts about this?

Thanks for any help!

Try using a better surge protector. If that doesn't work, there's no way to get rid of the noise.
