I need a new Bluetooth enabled phone, suggest the best.

(I've mainly used Nokia phones over the last decade, but other makes are probably viable.)

Sony Ericsson T68i

Synchs with your address book and iCal, remembers your mum's birthday for you. And all your other appointments. Connects the PB to the net via bluetooth. Works as a remote control for the PB too.

Checks your email from any pop3 account with no extra hardware needed.

Great little phone.

Love it or hate it, the T68i is a good deal.

It is also now free with most tariffs. (I got one free on T-Mobile.)

I have had no problems at all with my T68i, and it syncs with my 12" PB like a dream. (A dream with minimal setup needed!)

Also, Romeo takes the interaction to a whole new level! Use your phone as a remote for iTunes, keynote, Powerpoint, DVD, or as a mouse etc etc)

It has to be my free app of the year!

I don't think a T68i will let you down even though it is not cutting edge any more.

Peace,

Marc

(I was a bit worried about durability, but my family have 4 and they all perform with out problem despite leading very hard lives indeed!)

The T68i's replacement, the T610 is out now in Australia, Asia and now most of Europe.

It is fully supported in 10.2.6 for GPRS internet and Address Book (Caller ID and SMS).

It is also fully supported in iSync 1.0.1, which is due to be released very shortly.

The phone has all of the features of the T68i, PLUS:

slightly smaller phone
bigger screen
65,000 colour screen
integrated camera
Java
Polyphonic Ringtones.

It still keeps the astonoshingly long battery life of the T68i too!

Plus the T610 also works right now with Romeo and Sony Ericsson Clicker, so you can use your phone as a remote control!!

It's also tri-band like the T68i, so it works in the USA too!

The case is nice, anodised aluminium. The display has over 2x the resolution of the T68is. (And knocks the socks off the T68i's 256 colour screen)

Cheapest (outright, no contract) price I can find is EUR 369.

I'm in the same situation myself GENERAL_SMILEY. I had decided to get a t68i, but I think I'm going to wait for a t610. I've read nothing but good things about them, other than the screen being terrible in bright sunshine. But that wont bother us too much here in the UK eh?

Looks like Ericsson is the one - don't think I need the camera phone though, I really like my thin metal Casio digital thing - just need the phone.

Thanks for all the help - as for the UK weather OB1, you've got to admit Saturday was pretty special - I spent the day editing a video I had to do, outside (under a sun shade admittedly) in weather hotter than Rio apparently. Exactly what I got a lap top for, rare as these days are.
