So Apple's just dropped their prices considerably (especially here in Canada!) and the 15" TiBook just became more irresistable. But with the possibility of a new 15" AlBook just around the corner, I'm tempted to wait at least a little further into the summer.

My question to you all is whether or not a price increase is likely when(if) the 15" AlBook's are released.

The current price is almost too good to pass up (especially since I want to get a 10GB iPod, too), but I'd be kicking myself if I could wait mere weeks longer and get an AlBook with upgraded goodies for the same price.

So will prices likely increase or stay the same? Or could the price of a 15" AlBook be even lower than the current 15" TiBook?

<Sigh>, too many variables. It was easier putting together a PC from year-old hardware to save cash!

I suspect that the revised, 15-inch PowerBook will cost $2,399 without a SuperDrive and $2,799 with one. The model with a SuperDrive will probably have a faster processor, more memory, and a higher-capacity hard drive.

I'd wager a fair amount that the price of the Alu 15, when it finally gets released, will not under any circimstances be lower than the Ti 15 current price...

Loads more features, new machine casing, more R&D etc... prices may even go back up a bit. Who knows? All is speculation and supposition...

As to what to buy... if you need a machine right now, buy the Ti. If you can wait, wait.

Either way you get a great machine...

Peace,

Marc
