OK, I posted a similar question in networking, but I was wondering how this issue has affected other PB users.

I have a 17" PB. Just got a Linksys Wireless B + 4 port router. It works fine as far as I can tell, except that when I put my PB to sleep and then wake it up, the router chokes up and nothing gets through it, physical or wireless.

I have heard claims that this is a PB problem, an AP extreme problem, and a Linksys problem, all by different people. I have also heard that it is an issue with how the AP card shuts down improperly when the computer is going to sleep. But, from my experience, the router chokes up when I manually turn AP off, too.

So, my question is this: have any other PB users had similar issues with Linksys and/or other routers? Have they solved the issue or found a router which does not exhibit this problem (specifically if they have experienced the problem with another setup)?

Help please.

my guess would be that it is a problem with the implementation of the 802.11g standard based on the draft-specification. i heard that your best bet is to config the AE card to do 802.11b only, it should all work then.

(the apple airport page now even reports that they only do 802.11b with non-airport clients)

when the approved standard is implemented and your firmware upgraded it might actually work @ 54Mbps... have a look at the apple discussions page, there is a lot of info on getting Linksys working with your AE.
