Is there any update on the issue where upgrading to 10.2.x causes the battery life to drop in half?

Machine is a Powerbook Ti G4/500

After installing the update (I forget the actual release) what would happen was when the battery indicator hit 50% it would immediately go into sleep. I run XBattery and it shows that when 50% capacity occurs, the graph discharge curve drops straight down to zero, along with the battery voltage. It seems to think that a complete and immediate discharge occurred when 50% capacity was reached.

As a result, my battery has half the life it had before, now about 90 mins.

I have upgraded to 10.2.6 and the problem still occurs.

I have searched the boards here and there is talk here and there but I can't believe that this isn't getting more attention.
