We saw, warping and heat problems with the 12" and 17" books, but the seem to have been corrected. Does it stand to reason that Apple will take what they learned about the aluminum enclosure, and apply it to the new 15AIbooks?

Hopefully this means that while the new 15"s will be the first of their kind, they will benefit from the defects in the very first 12"s and 17"s.

Any thoughts?

I think that if Apple releases Aluminum 15" PowerBooks, they will release them alongside the 2nd generation 12" and 17" PowerBooks - with all 3 having those issues addressed.

I haven't seen anyone idicating warping or heat issues with the 17". Do you know off-hand where that thread would be?

I stand corrected, I guess I assumed that since the 12" had warping issues, that the 17"s would have had them as well. Didn't mean to alarm people.

I would consider them first gen for sure. Much of the development probably has already been done prior to, or soon after the 12" and 17" release.

Even if the 12"/17" problems have been fixed, the 15"s will have their own unique problems (as with every first gen).
