I know this is off base but I have the 17"PB and I bought a PC laptop. I noticed on "all" PC laptops the trackpad is way off center and more to the left and "all" the Apple laptops have a perfectly centered trackpad. Does anyone understand the engineering in PC's enough to know why the trackpads are off center?
Just wanting some info if anyone cares to reply.
Thanks!

I believe the reason may be because the home position is slightly more to the left of the center of the keyboard, so the placement of the trackpad slightly to the left is to ensure that the pad is right between your hands. This helps to ensure you don't touch the pad and move the mouse as you are typing. Just an idea.
