700s had a 20 gig hard drive and only 16mb video.

Seems like the 700 isn't listed there. Brilliant yet again, Cipher... did you get to 15k posts by making people feel dumb?

And with a choice of 12.1-inch or 14.1-inch displays, 800MHz or 900MHz PowerPC G3 processors, 30GB or 40GB hard drives

Did you even bother to read the question?

I second this. If you don't care about gaming then save with the 700 mhz. Otherwise go for the 800 mhz and that 32 meg video card. Not that you can't game on the 700mhz...

Yeah, I couldn't pass up a really good deal on a 700 earlier in the year - 384mb of ram, an upgraded 40gb 5400 HD, and a Sony 16x combo drive. I game on my pc, but this iBook can handle just about anything I throw at it. It's just a great little computer, the best Mac I've ever owned...

Just another thing to add...on the cosmetic side:

Old 800 w/combo drive has the same silvery greyish palm rests and touchpad.

New 800 w/cdrom drive has a white palm rest and touchpad. It is not as smooth as the older one...but I like it better.
