im thinking of picking one up but is there any chance we might see a drop in the next month? if so i can easily wait but man my mouth wont stop watering! please post any opinions or rumors, thanks.

IMO, it'll drop to $2999 in a week or so. Then go back up after it gets a CPU speed "bump" in a couple months. Just to flush out stocks of present units.
