today i just accidentally dropped my pb (in a padded bag) from about 3 ft. high and found out the rear-left corner (the bottom side) was damaged - the sheet metal was twisted and I could see inside the casing. Other than that the computer is functioning normally (everything including the combo drive).

I bought a 3-year applecare plan when i bought this pb last year. my question is, for those who have this kind of experience, how much did you pay for it? and how long did you have to wait? or in general is there anything I should know before calling apple?

My heart sank when i saw my damaged pb. So please help...

Well I could be wrong...but the fact that you have applecare doesn't make a difference here.

Drops are not covered at all as far as I know.

Sorry I don't know any more details...just wanted to let you know.

I usually think everyone deserves to take a stab at getting Apple to repair their system but in this instance I don't think so.

It was dropped.

What system do you have? And what kind of case was it in?

It's pb titanium, 1Gz. I guess I'm okay with shelling out some $$ for repair. The questions are: (1) how much? (2) how fast? (3) do I need to take out my hd? or they won't touch anything in my hd?

Thx.
