My iBook crashed today, and when I restarted it beeped four times, then the LED flashed four times. It did this several times. I unplugged it, took the battery out and waited for a couple of minutes and restarted. It started up fine after this, but I checked Apple's KB and it says this means "no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)".

Should I have it looked at, or does the fact that it started again (eventually) mean that everything's OK?

if i were you, i would try to stop by an apple store if it's convonient and ask them, or call apple up if you're still under the warranty.

if neither of these apply, i think i would just not worry about it unless it happens again.

if you're worried, and dont mind troubling yourself a tad, a fresh install seems like it would fix it...(i think)
ibook 900 12.1" combo 640mb =)

Eh, it should be okay.

If it does it even one more time though, take it in.

It's not a good sign.

If you're under warranty, consider replacing it before the warranty runs out.

Actually, it's brand new - a replacement for a machine apple couldn't fix. It did this on the first day I had it. When you say

are you saying replace the machine or get applecare before the warranty runs out?
