not that we need another thread on this....but:

Legit buyers get scared by the all the fraud sellers out there. Some easy to detect, some not.

Legit sellers get scared by the fraud buyers (maybe more sophisticated than the fraud sellers). Moreover, the pool of legit buyers is vastly reduced by fear of fraud sellers.

My solution: luckily, I live in NY City with big population. I will probably end up selling for cash to someone who comes to my office in a public place.

pathetic.

I'm in the same position... I looked on ebay, and the 'frauds' out-numbered the legit sellers! What hope have I got!!

There were some really good deals, and seemingly genuine ones too, but at the bottom in microscopic print were the words "reconditioned:... It looks like everyine is out to scam people some how.

It makes me dispair of the world sometimes.

If anyone wants a 'genuine' 3 week old mint 12" PB in the UK email me!!

Why, may I ask, are you getting rid of your 12"? Too small I presume?

About eBay fraud. Yep, it pisses me off too, I'd really like to consider getting an iPod this summer... One of the old 5 giggers, but search for iPod on eBay and see the... awesome results.

No wonder people are concerned, my first powerbook purchase was a fraud. So the next day I bought one from a bricks and mortar store Talk about an expensive Powerbook!

Ah. My Pismo is pretty warm, and now with the 900 mhz upgrade it's toastier than ever. The only thing is, this laptop acts as my main machine... so it sits on a desk all day, I don't have much experience with it being too warm for me. Besides the machine's health, I couldn't care less if the thing got super hot. I am a loving parent to the thing so I prop it up a tad to at least help with the displacement of heat via convection.

On a side note, I don't know why people find the 12" so appealing. It's so mini... 14-15 is the way to go. My Pismo has a 14.1" screen and I love it, I can only imagine the 15.2"... mmm

How do you feel about this? Moments after you sell the thing, a new one will be released with 970 inside
