airport is definitely worth the money, and i dont think you need to go with airport extreme.

i only use aiport for internet (not file sharing with other computers), and the aiport card more than handles that.

you can get an airport card for around 60-80, and a wireless router for less than 50 if you shop around

i kno that the airport extreme basestation is COMPATIBLE w/ yer ibook (i have one) but it will only let you use regular airport speeds

furthermore, the airport extreme card that fits under your keyboard is NOT COMPATIBLE with your ibook, get a regualr AIRPORT CARD for your ibook.

i have an airport extreme basestation that is COMPATIBLE with my regualr airport card

get the extrme aiport station (i dont think they sell a regular aiport one anymore) and the regular aiport card for your ibook

p.s.: for an extra 50 bucks, u can get the option for expansion ports (ethernet/modem/atenna) for the extreme station for later expansion

visit apple's airport site for more

ihope i didnt confuse
