So help me. If my suspicions are correct and my logic board is preparing to die on me for the 3rd time in two months, Apple is gonna catch the 3rd degree (no pun intended) of hell from me. Both times its died before I've been without it for 7-10 days while it was in the shop. The last time it was in, the shop offered me a loaner machine for $150 a week. (An older G3 non-iBook model.)
Unfortunately, my situation at the moment does not allow me to be without my laptop. I'm taking 16 credits in summer school and because I'm at school pretty much all day Monday-Thursday my iBook is my main computer. I use it for taking notes in classes and well as a mobile workstation for writing papers and doing other school work. Losing it right now, especially in the middle of the condensed summer session would tantamount to disaster.
That being said, given that this is the 3rd time this has happened, what would I need to do in order for Apple to declare my machine a lemon and give me a new one? I'm at my wits end and can't run the risk that this thing could die on me at any moment, especially if it takes work with it when it crashes like it just did. Who do I need to talk to, etc? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

-Jeff

Just a short update. I called Apple tech support this this afternoon and spoke with two exceptionally nice people about the issues I've experianced with my iBook. The first lady, Katherine was her name, agreed that if it was diagnosed as a hardware problem again, Apple would declare it a lemon and replace it for me. I was then transferred to a tech support guy named Voz who walked through a lot of different things with me. When I was finally able to get the machine to actually turn on, he had me reset the power management and then ran the diagnostic tests. Its working fine right now and I'm using it to type this post but he wants me to run the hardware diagnostic in a loop over night since the problem is intermitant as well as to continue to use the laptop as normal to see if I can get the problem to reoccur. If it does, Apple is going to send me a new machine. While I hope it doesn't die again, if it does I'm thankful that they're willing to admit that its a problem and will replace it.
