Has anyone used a long-life battery for a PowerBook? I'm talking about the type of battery that is a little smaller than the laptop itself and in theory, should provide several additional hours of battery life. I have seen several advertised but it would be nice to hear from someone with experience.

I'm about to do a very long trip (east coast US to WWDC in San Francisco, then on to Australia). I'd like to take a PowerBook with me but the battery life on the 12" and 17" is only ok. The other choice is to take a ThinkPad T40 which has 7 hour battery life on its main battery and another 4 hours on the battery that replaces the DVD drive. However, I'd rather take a PowerBook: it would be bad form to show up at WWDC with a StinkPad!

thanks,
fh
