Sounds like you need a new one. Laptop batteries only last two or three years. One thing you can try before opening your wallet is letting the laptop run until it forces itself to sleep. This will readjust the power manager. Who knows, you might get lucky.

You can try resetting the power manager, but my guess is you need a new battery. I bought a refurb. TiBook from Apple and originally the battery indicator would show about 3 hours of life but it slowly got less and less. The decrease is so gradual you never really notice it. But after buying a new battery (not cheap BTW), the indicator now routinely says about 5 when fully charged and it lasts a long time. It's like having a new computer.
