So I've used my ibook with itunes as a jukebox to play music at parties before. Last time I hooked it up to digi projector and beamed the visuals on to the wall - lovely stuff.

This time I wanna go bigger and need some help ..

It would be really nice to be able to control itunes and quicktime music videos on the ibook and beam full screen visuals to the projector at the same time. I assume this would require the screen hack? (700 iBook, 16MB Radeon).
Is it possible to have the itunes interface on one monitor and the visuals on the other? What about quicktime movies? Anyway to get them fullscreen on the second monitor and controlled from the first?

Any other software that would enable this kinda function?

Cheers!

i could be wrong
but
the onyl thing i can think of is having an iTunes like screen saver running as desktop( get a program like BACKLIGHT) on one monitor then you do your other stuff w/ the second monitor, i can't confirm that that'll work though as i don't span monitors, just a suggestion you can look into! try it though it may work...also there are screen savers that display full sized QT movies so you could essentially do that on the other screen as a "wallpaper" i'm not sure though its possible as a desktop, but i don't know if it would do it while spanning

make a playlist for all of the songs you want to play, or just a playlist mirroring the library if you shuffle everything. then double click the playlist and it will open it in a new itune window. then apple-T the original itune window and you can play the visuals on that window and control the playlist in the new window

what about vlc. use the playlist in vlc to be able to put all your movies in there. then move the vlc movie window to the 2nd monitor, full screen it, but leave the controller on the first window

Wow! Thanks MDC .. that works great.

I applied the screen hack and feel like I've got a new machine. VLC works great with the controls/playlist on the ibook screen and the full screen movies out the projector. Your iTunes tip is great too, except that full-screening the visuals blacks out both monitors(??). Audion does the same with fullscreen visuals. The best option I've found is to expand the Audion visuals window so that it takes up the entire second monitor .. this works good, but the visuals are very slow and jerky on my iBook.
Anyway, thanks again.
