I was not too upset. I was trying to slide it on a glass table; BIG NO-NO.
But I did come away with some observations. Since the rear foot came off damaged I also peeled off its mate on the other side to keep it balanced. The bare plastic supports do protrude from the bottom of the unit, keeping scarce bit of clearance between the Powerbook and the table. The foot I peeled off came off with surprising ease, and looks like it can be glued quite easily on again.
I would post some pics if I were not on vacation. There seems to be no rise in temp in the unit; actually I just finished burning a DVD with no problems. What strikes me as weird is why did the design dept use the stupid feet anyway. The plastic anchors would have been bullet proof and perfect if they were just extended from the bottom a bit further. These feet are removable and Apple should be able to replace them. Frankly though I may just remove all of them and sell them at $10 apiece to some perfectionists out there.

I'm down to 1 foot myself, and I must say that I too don't understand the foot design at all. Was the foot adhesive a free gift from Post-It or something?

Yeah, the foot issue has been pretty common actually. It would've made a lot more sense to built the foot cushions into the machine somehow rather than just adhese them.

I just noticed today that the back left foot on mine came off. Sheesh. After my Pismo foot nightmare I thought I was done with the foot problem. Not too annoying, but I am on the perfectionist side; so...
Hey urrl5201, if you have a paypal account, I'll send you a fiver for a foot. Just PM me if you'd like it.
Cheers!

Guess I should feel lucky my Pismo came with all four feet attached. Hmmm. Wonder how long they'll last?

Pismo=great machine. The problem is that any prolonged excessive heat made by the processor would cause the adhesive Apple used on many of Pismo/Wallstreet feet to become viscous, which would cause the feet to just kind of fall off. I found my Pismo feet several times in really weird places. Once on a girlfriend's bum. I had them replaced and they kept falling off until I just gave up and gave in. It became such a widespread problem that the places on the internet selling little packets of Pismo feet for like $5 were making a tidy little profit. I believe that if you DO loose yours, you can super glue them on and they will stay.
[rant]Now, why we're still having powerbook foot problems, I don't understand. Aren't we suppose to learn from our mistakes??[/rant]

is there a way to have apple replace the feet inexpensively?
if it happened to me, i'd just assume have apple fix it. it can't be to expensive can it?
