Being a bit new to the wireless thing, I have a question pertaining to the AirPort Extreme base station and my 15" TBook. I have noticed that occasionally my reception will vary well within the 150 ft. limit that I am supposed to get. Is that a normal thing. I never am beyond 50 ft. and most of the time less than that. Overall I am quite satified with my setup and usually reception is good. Just curious about those infrequent occasions.

Your antenna placement has a lot to do with it...I find that if one of the "windows" is aimed toward the station I get significantly better range. YMMV.

Airport reception for TiBooks is notoriously poor compared to other laptops. I had one and where I and other TiBook owner friends received only spotty reception (if at all) my Pismo/Wallstreet and my BigAl received a full-strength signal. It's a design flaw combination of materials and antenna placement. If you search the forum here, you'll find more discussions about it. The poor reception does not occur in the new AlBooks. Sorry.
