G'day folks...
Curious to know if any other peeps who have the 17"bad boy have a slight white glare on the sides of the screen when its black... When screen isnt black its perfect..
This is my second, had to return previous due to badly alligned mouse button that was sticking... Got a brand new one today and im just going over it to see if there are any anomalies.... Everythings seems fine, all noises accounted for, mouse alligned, no dead pixels, so just wanna check with you guys to see if this glare is normal as i cant recall if my first had it *Chuckle*
Soooo, is this normal? Anyone else have this on their big Al? or am I just being overly observeant? *Grin*
Thanx : )

Erm, think i'd know if it was external light... When I say black, I dont mean off... If im watching DVD in widescreen, there is a ""slight"" brightness emerging from the (Black) sides of the screen on the top and bottom...
hmmm, anyone around who can have a peek at a total black screen and tell me if you see a ""very"" slight whiteness emerging from the sides of the LCD....
Cheers : )

It's common on a lot of LCDs, and is a result of the manufacturing process. It looks like a "pinching" of the edges of the LCD, right?

Yeah, thats exactly what it looked like... Seems to have dissapeard now, LCD has probably settled - on the other hand i couldve blatently been super sensitized to finding faults lol.. Thanx mate...
Couple more queries that i just need to confirm noise wise... Anyone get the odd click from the hardrive every now and then? I have the toshiba drive in this one - i had the fujitsu in my first "i think" as i didnt recall a click coming from it .
The other query that im pretty sure is normal just didnt register the noise on my first AL... Its a healthy noise im sure ... - when waking from sleep, does the superdrive mechanism reset itself? Oh and I now have a very slight sizzle on my nizzle lol... anyone find out where this is coming from and why? Not fazed, just curious, sizzle is normal definetely yeah?
Nice one everyone for your input, highly appreciated
