Hi!

I`ve been following this forum quite closely over the last few months. A lot of postings here have influenced me in my decision to finally switch from Windows to Apple. The first day with my brand new G4 Powerbook 17 showed me that the decision was the right one. Wow-what a great machine!!!!!!!

Any advice from you experts on what one should do with a new Powerbook? The battery charge topic has already been taken care of. Other things you can think of?

Bye

Matthias

Aside from enjoy??? You can go down to the local Starbuks or something and see the looks people give you and how jealous they quickly become.

First off, CONGRATS and welcome to the MacNN Boards!

I'd highly recommend running "Software Update" in the System Preferences every so often to keep all your apps up to date, and keep an eye at www.macupdate.com for daily Mac ultilities/apps that may be useful to you! ENJOY!

Also, don't forget to run Repair Permissions after you do software update, as you most likely will be installing the 10.2.6 update (though it's a good idea for any update if you've got the time).

Should be in your Applications/Utilities folder. Run Disk Utility, click on your drive, then repair permissions (might have the procedure slightly off, you'll get it though.. it's fairly obvious).

Congrats on your new machine, and welcome to the forums!
Alex
