You need an external antenna for the Airport card??? The Al series has an internal antenna buil into the back of the screen and range is supposed to be better than the Ti. Are you having range issues? If so you may want to check to see if the card has been installed properly.

Isnt hacking into private networks illegal now days??? Please dont take this the wrong way, but what the hell is the deal with wardriving. Internet service is pretty cheap now days so what is the point? Aside from using someone else's IP address to break the law what do you get out of it?

To the best of my knowledge they do not exist.

And yes, "wardriving" is pretty lame. Especially with every second Starbucks offering legal wireless broadband nowadays. Talking of which, as far as legality is concerned: Using somebody else's network without their express permission is indeed illegal.

Part of the fun of wardriving is the thrill of discovery. I wardrive and have never once tried to gain access to any access point that I have found.

Belkin makes the F5D6050 USB Adapter I'm currently using it with a beige G3 runnins OS X 10.2.6. They have the manual and drivers available for download. Not bad for $22.50, refurbished. Gets good range in my house (just as good if not better than my iMacs, powerbook, and DA G4.
best of luck,
dave

I bought a Netgear MA111 Wireless 802.11b USB adapter for my PC at home. I wanted some way to surf wirelessly on my PB, and was too cheap to buy a Airport Base Station w/ modem, so I bought one of these at a local retailer instead, and turned my old Frankintel PC into a Base Station (simple computer-to-computer network, with the PC sharing its internet connection, its printer, and some folders with the PB). This adapter has good range, can fit in your pocket and all, but I don't think it would work on a mac. Doesn't matter because for what I use it for, if I do ever get a mac desktop, I'll just buy a refurbished airport card for about the same price.
Lysdexics have more fnu.
