Darnit, only another request! When I saw this thread I was so stoked, as if the thread contents would be ABOUT performance of 10.3 on Pismos rather than requesting insight from lucky Pismo users with a copy of Panther.

I resisted responding to the original post because I did not want to instill hope in people watching this thread like a dog... but now I must add to the apparent masses:

Who's got a Pismo running 10.3 preview?

off topic:
darkmatter, eh? That's the codename for the new 64bit Photoshop (8.0). Do you know something we don't? See Appleinsider article.
DigitalEl: Congrats on getting married.

Yeah it would be interesting to see how 10.3 runs in a Pismo.

What are the requirments for 10.3 anyway? Are they the same 10.2 ?

I was told on:

http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.p...hreadid=166041

that Panther would run fine on the Pismo. I plan on installing it on mine.

APi]TheMan, I'm sorry that I can't help you further with your request. I use this nick name since a long time ago. On behalf of your suggestion I tried to change the Subject of this Topic but it was not possible.

Kind Regards

By the way, it's not a beta ("ß"). It's a developer's preview, which is maybe an alpha build, if that.

I've got Panther installed on a 400mhz Pismo and it just flies. It's got 768mb ram and a 40gig HD.
Expose is pretty amazing, the way all your windwos just fly away to reveal the desktop is somethgin to see, as well as the showing all apps too, so smooth. It's got its rough edges, expected since it's just a DP, but it is fast, faster than Jag in most areas.

I have Panther installed on my 900mhz Pismo. Exposé runs very well, I like it a lot.

Panther seems nice to me, the only real speed improvements I've noticed are in browsing Finder windows and Save/Open dialogs. I don't use that machine much, though, since it has no internet access.

I'm glad to see that Expose works I thought it required Quartz Ext...I guess just the user switching cube works with QE.

Hi.
Sorry to rain on your parade. We're locking 10.3 threads because it isn't in regular public release.

If you have it because you're a developer, use the Apple discussion boards that they have set up specifically for you. Not here.

Thanks!
