I have an iBook 700 and my battery doesn't seem to last very long anymore. I used to get a good 2-3 hours out of it, but now it only lasts about 20-30 mins. The battery indicator says it has 2:30 left, but it just suddenly goes into deep sleep without warning. If I plug it in for a few minutes, I can sometimes wake it up. Other times I have to restart it. What's up?

Mine's a Late 2001 Dual USB, bought in November 2001 - and I don't have AppleCare so its down to me to replace it. They do not last forever and are considered a 'consumable' item.

My battery did the 30 min charge thing, but it said i only had 30 min left. I think after a while some of the cells in the battery actually quit working. The lights on my batt would show full charge, while it would only take 45min to charge and 30min to die off.
Just get one on eBay - They go for @ $75 brand new.

Apple replaced mine under warranty (for 2 iBooks!).

Else try eBay but buy it from a good seller, because with all the bad batteries around...
