Might be a stupid question but is it possible to use a power supply from an original Ti Powerbook with a new 17" Aluminium?

The cnnectors appear the same size etc Anyone doing this?

As long as it is a 65W power adapter, it should work just peachy.

Apple says that it will work but they do not recommend it because:

- the battery might not be properly charged (not enough power).

- the 17" might suddenly shut down, especially during peak-power situations.

You can see the difference on the labels on the adaptor: They are 65W for the 17" and 45W for the rest.
