I bought this airline adapter today at an Apple store:

http://store.yahoo.com/smartdiskstore/airadfortits.html

While it says it supports pbG4, I'm still skeptical if it supports 17" pb.

Anyone know?

That one will work just fine.

It's the same power plug on all of the powerbook g4's.

The negative with such an adaptor is it does not use a transformer like the more expensive ones which run in the $50+ range.

Without an integrated transformer, any voltage transients/spikes caused by the airplanes electrical system (such as when they disconnect from ground power and switch to the onboard APU) could damage the powerbook.

Or even possibly in flight, but if it does happen then you may have more important things to worry about...

I could be wrong but I thought I remember reading that the power connectors in the seats were already surge protected.

This depends on the airline you're travelling with. As of yet, there is no standard.

Here's the power adapter you want:

http://igo.ententeweb.com/mapfiles/juice.asp

Computer, cell phone, pda, whatever...this will power them all ANYWHERE. AC, car, plane, wherever.

Had mine for about 2 months. It's the only power supply/adapter I carry.
