I saw this on MacRumors and both they and powerpage.org seem skeptical about his happening. But who knows. I guess I really dont care, as all I want is a 12" - buit maybe a new 15" would further lower the price of the 12", who knows, could all be b.s.

Yeah, even they said it is just a "Maybe". I mean why post something like that when you don't have definitive evidence?

They refer to it as a 'longshot.' Why is it a longshot? Isn't the 15" getting a bit outdated at this point?

So you look "sort of" good if it's true, but "not that bad" if it's wrong.

Personally, I hope to hell they do update them. My magic 8 ball says "Most Likely".

Well this seems like a good place for this. Leo LaPort (sp) also thinks that the new 15"PowerBook will be released next week. I am inclined to agree, it's time.

I have been waiting for a new 15 or a Rev B 12 for awhile. I was going to get an iBook for college, but I got a lot of money from my job and stuff now that I am graduated. I can afford a 15, and have the software for it thank god lol. MS Office ex....

I am going crazy waiting, and am kind of mad that I have to get a G4 one. Well I guess I am just crying inside cause I know they might up the processor. Not a big deal its not like the G4 isnt fast. I used it at CompUSA and it was very fast. Right now I am on a G3 iMac 600mhz. We will see what happens but let me make this clear to all of you in my situation.

Every time I buy a new computer I swear a better one comes out the next day same thing happens to my dad. I will not buy anything at this point in time. I want a refresh of the 12 and 15 so I can make a decision. The 12 was like for me to begin with though. Nice and mobile although doesnt have the features the 15 has so it will be hard. I cant find out until apple gets out a refresh. I feel like all this waiting is building up a wall.

I know nothing but.....

there is NO way they will release a new 15 untill after schools starts in the fall. the college I attend distributes a large quantity of laptops at this time every year, 2 years ago within a month after the students got their laptops, apple updated the line, last year they waited till december.

Yeah and if Apple updates the 12- and 17-inch models next week (but not the 15-inch), then the 15-inch is toast. I think this may happen.

That would really tick me off. For me, the 17" is too big, the 12" is too small, and the 15" is just right. I don't suppose it's possible to upgrade the processor is it?

Suposidly all the laptops are getting a bumb.

The 12' will be at 1GHZ w/L3 Cache

the 15' & 17' will hit 1.25GHZ

yes the 15 will be aluminum

All will still be G4's, BUT there is a 970 mobile that will be the next step after this one

And this is all suposed to happen less than 2 weeks.
