i never use my powerbook on its battery, except to drain the battery once a month or so.. When i move around from location to location, i power down. and when i am at my destination, i power up using the power adpater. THe problem is that my battery gradually decreases (~1% / day). I never had this problem on my ibook. does anybody else have this issue? am i missing something?

thanks

Hmm... I noticed that my two month old PB 12" battery drains significantly when left sleeping for a number of days.

well, that's because it's not turned off... if nothing else, you should be able to tell that it's using power just by the fact that the light on the front is glowing. It needs to use the battery power to keep the contents of the RAM alive until you wake it up. That said, it uses very little battery power (1%/hour) to keep it in sleep mode compared to what it uses when awake. i think at the point where you plan not to use it for a number of days, you should consider just turning it off.

as to the original poster, i don't know why it would use battery power when turned off... it might use the main battery to keep the clock going when it's there, and only use the small battery on the motherboard when the main battery has no charge.
