I'm in the market for a sleeve for my new 17" AlBook (finally traded up!), and have my eye on the Acme Made Slim as well as the Timbuk2 XXL computer sleeve. Can any of you share your impressions and/or experiences with either?

I'm also considering the Timbuk2 Dee Dog for wknds, so any of your impressions / experiences of this messenger bag would also be appreciated.

Many thanks in advace!

i bought the Acme case for my wife's 15" - it seems very, very well made, and she loves it. The thing reeks of good design and high quality.
All opinions are entirely those of my employer. It's not my fault.

Many thanks for your impressions. Two follow up questions:

1. I read the Acme sleeve is padded with plastic - does this make the sleeve semi-rigid like the Brenthaven?

2. The Acme sleeve looks a bit feminine from the pics online, does this hold true in person?

Thx a lot!

Timbuk2 sleeve = Excellent.

It's got thick foam all around, nice, squeezable handles. It's kinda big, but the protection is definitely there. I think the XXL sleeve will fit in the Dee Dog.

Timbuk2 bags rock, I love mine.

the acmemade is NOT padded with plastic.

It's close-celled foam. Very protective.

I love mine.
If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.
