After I made the Switch from my piece of crap to the PB17, I have of course been insisting other people do the same. My girlfriend went agad and bought a Hell Laptop, and now she can't stand that the built in WiFi drops the connection every time she sleeps the machine. My older brother, bought the same machine at the same time, same problem. My mother bought a Hell a while back, and she has had problems with it, and can't stand that when she calls their Tech Support, she's calling Bangladesh.

I might actually get both my gf and my mother to buy something from the iBook line--tho I push for the upcoming 15" PowerBook. My older bro, on the other hand, is stubborn and probably won't.

I keep trying...

Yeah, sleeping and wireless networking are two of the things that Apple did a great job on with their hardware and OS X. My 802.11b network is secured via IPSec and the PowerBook would wake up and re-establish both network and IPSec connections in very few seconds.

In comparison, my ThinkPad running WinXP would take at least a minute or two to re-establish connectivity and often would lose the access point association or IPSec context, forcing a tedious manual process of resetting the wireless or IPSec software. I have spent a lot of time sitting and waiting for connectivity.
