With my new 12" PB coming very shortly, I was wondering if Apple solved a issue I know they had with their older laptops. I remember that when you closed them, over time the keys would be right up agaisnt the screen and make marks on the screen itself. The remedy to this was to put a piece of cloth on the keys, then shut the laptop. Do I need to get a piece of cloth to avoid this, or has Apple changed the 12" PB enough that it is no longer a issue. Thanks.

Do a search in this forum, always a good starting point. You'll find that this topic has been discussed extensively and you should find your answers. General consensus appears to be that the 12" doesn't suffer from key marks.

This is a common problem with all laptops, and it's worse on the really thin ones. Laptops tend to get squeezed together when travelling, pushing the keys into the screen and thus transferring dirt and often scratching the screen. My dads Compaq Armada E500 has this problem big time.
I'm not taking any chances with my TiBook, and it's not really that annoying to carry the piece of cloth.

No problems with my 12" and I have been carrying it around for about 2 months now.
