I've been lurking these boards for a while. I owned a Ti 400 for a good year and then sold it. It just wasn't fast enough with Final Cut Pro, Photoshop and After Effects.

After rumors of new Powerbooks for quite some time I've been waiting and waiting for an updated 15" 'Book. No dice, I thought there was a shimmer of hope at MWNY, but alas I was wrong.

So I'm going to be buying one (15.2" 1Ghz, SuperDrive) with a student ADC discount within the week, and I have no real budget, I just want to get the best bang for the buck, so thats where you guys come. I've seen some great recommendations on here.

What are some peripherals that are handy/cool/functional?

I've seen the banner add by booq PowerSleeves on here and I'm curious to see if anyone has one and what they think.

Well you will definitely want a mouse hehe. Logitech mouses are great pick the one you need from them.

HP printers are the best well priced fast and of high quality.

Buy your RAM elseware. Select the 512mb single chip on apples site. Then go to www.crucial.com and buy ram for a lower price of great quality. Save some cash

If your not going to burn CDs you can shave another 200bucks off the price by selecting a combo drive. Although keep in mind this will decrease the value of the machine in the future.

60GB HD can be picked for 50 bucks more. Depending on what you use the machine for you can select the 867 or the 1ghz machine not to much of a difference. I believe both got L3 Cache very speedy.

What kinds of devices and gagets are you looking for, and whats your software situation at the moment. You might want to wait and get the new Office release that was announced yesterday. Different prices for different uses basically. ex students.
