I have a 1GHz Superdrive TiBook.

Right now it has a 60GB Fujitsu in there.

I'm considering upgrading for performance. What is the best drive out there for laptops in terms of performance?

I remember reading about IBM's with huge caches... Interested in what the best solution is.

The best drive for performance would be the 60GB 7200RPM IBM/Hitachi 7K60 hdd. However, I settled for an 80GB 4200 RPM drive which is exceptionally quiet and fast (due to the extremely high density). The 80GB, though only 4200 RPM, apparently outperforms the 5400 RPM 60GB drives.

Hope this helps,

George

Didn't someone just make a 7500RPM drive?
