Recently, my powerbook (G4 800) which is out of warranty (16 months old) no longer recharges either of my batteries with either of my power cords. And the laptop will not shutdown! If I pull out the battery and the power cord, of course, the computers stays shut down. But as soon as I plug in the power cord or insert a battery (which still has some juice), the computer starts up again. I tried resetting the PRAM (command-option-P-R) but that didn't work. If I select shutdown from the Apple menu, the computer restarts.

The power cord always have the green indicator light on. And the battery menu always show "Calculating...until full" and it never charges. When the power cord is not plugged in, the battery level is correctly displayed. Eventually, I won't have batteries to move my computer around with!

Anyone know what could be wrong?
