Okay I'm convinced into buying a iBook there doesn't sound like there's anything wrong with them in the slightest, I've gone back and read pages and pages of these topics and all they've done is to convince me even more into one. Now my final question how long will the battery last, this is the 14'' one. For like typing with itunes playing in the background. Watching a DVD or watching a Divx? Any others you guys can think of would be great. Thanks. ~Matt~

Apple quote upto 6 hours for the 14" model, but it is more realistically about 3-4 hours for me, even doing the most intensive of tasks (games, leeching off the HD over 100Mbit, watching divx etc).

It would probably be even longer for lighter CPU tasks such as word processing.

Also note you can easily set your power profiles so that when the laptop is not plugged in it will use less CPU and last longer, or set the time it takes for the display/computer to sleep.

You will not be sorry with your purchase.

sorry, dvd the same battery life? and how long does it take to charge the battery?

The battery should last long enough to just about get you through a 3 hour DVD.

The battery can take different amounts of time to recharge depending on how heavily you are using the machine as it charges, and whether or not it is in sleep mode.

In sleep mode, it has been my experience that the battery in the iBook takes a little over an hour to fully charge.
