I have a PowerBook G4 400Mhz...
The problem started a couple of days ago, I don't know what to do. I did the whole PRAM thing and what not, like my friend had told me, but no such luck afterwards.
The Problem: I have my StarCraft: Brood War CD in my CD/DVD Drive. I press the Eject button because all of the sudden, I have the urge to watch one of my DVDs, specifically, StarWars, The Attack of the Clones. I wait for the CD to come out...
Why won't the StarCraft CD come out of the drive? I have no idea. The CD icon on my desktop disappeared, but the CD itself isn't comming out of the drive. In the end, I have to press that little-button-that-ejects-the-CD right next to the slot because everything else failed.
I figured out that the only way I'm going to get a CD/DVD out of my drive is by dragging the CD/DVD icon to the Trash icon. I can't right-click; Eject, nor can I press the Eject button on my keyboard. And even so, the dragging thing, that doesn't work all the time.
The Problem II: Let's use the same scenario. I got my StarCraft: Brood War CD out by dragging the CD to my Trash Icon (it worked this time, but it's not going to work all the time, I know this for a fact), and I pop in my StarWars: The Attack of the Clones DVD. I wait for the DVD icon to appear on my desktop.
I wait a little longer, until I realize that it's not going to appear on my desktop anytime soon. I found a solution to this problem; it's to restart. But this is pretty annoying. Everytime I want to swap CDs/DVDs, I have to restart? For example, I take out a CD, then I put in a CD. It won't appear so I restart, and then it appears... That's going to be an annoying problem for me. Restart everytime I want to watch a movie or play a game? Ug...
The Problem III: Let's use the same scenario again. I pop in a DVD (StarWars: The Attack of the Clones) after I took out the StarCraft: BroodWar CD out (luckily, dragging the CD icon to the Trash icon worked after a couple tries after restarting) and I restarted so that the DVD icon would appear on my desktop. The DVD icon appears on my desktop, and I wait for the DVD Player application to open, because when you pop in a DVD, the DVD Player is supposed to automatically open. I wait...and wait...then, realizing it's not going to open anytime soon, I manually open the DVD Player (by clicking on it in the Dock) and suddenly, an error message appears:
DVD Player encountered a serious error. The current machine or system configuration is not supported. [-70013]
Strange...why is this happening? I have no idea. I pop in another DVD after the whole restart routine. StarWars: The Phantom Menace. Same error. Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. Same error. What's going on? I thought my computer just didn't like StarWars, but I was wrong. I'm forced to give up on watching DVDs, and it's killing me!
Someone, save me!
