Hey List,

Just picked up some of the new Sony travel speakers to go with my 15" gigabook. Nice build quality, heavier than it looks, and usb-powered. Here is a link:

The problem is that I didn't buy from the apple store, and don't have the mac drivers for it. This is what I've found out. The apple store lists the speakers as the SRS-T100. The ones that I have are marked as SRS-T100PC. I assumed that they were exactly the same product, but the only difference being the driver they shipped with. Why not include both mac and pc drivers on one disk, I have no idea.

So here's my question:

Anyone here have these speakers? I'm dying to try them out
If so, mind shooting me the driver for it?

Thanks much!

Have a great weekend!

Ok update: I'm such usb-speaker noob.

To get these to work, simply go into system preferences -> sound -> click on the 'output' tab and select 'usb audio codec'.

As expected, the speakers are quite a bit louder than the built-in, but the sound quality is a little muddled. After tweaking the eq in itunes, they sound decent.

This is going to be great for giving presentations when I only have my powerbook!

Is there anyway to use a system-wide eq?

Anyone happen to know how the above USB speakers from Sony stack up sound-wise against the TravelSound speakers by Creative that they sell over here on the German Apple online store:

Powaqqatsi, that's too bad... thanks for the reply.

I used them to watch a movie in a hotel room this weekend and they performed great.
