I have a 15" PB and i was installing a game and before I could play the game it said I need to download the more recent verison of OSX. so I downloaded the updates for it plus updates for iDVD, Quicktime and some other things. it said it needed to reboot. so I clicked ok and it shut itself down and restarted. a blue screen came up and it showed the normal loading info that happens when you boot up. that went away and it just sits there with the blue background. it just sits there, nothing happens. I've rebooted it about six times and it does the same thing. what do I need to do?

Hmm, first off, what OS X update did you install?

Without that info, I would recommend these anyway:

Unplug all peripherals.

Try to reseting the PRAM.

If that doesn't help, boot off the OS X CD and run 'Disk Utility' to repair the disk and also 'fix permissions'.

If this doesn't help, run fsck if you can.

If that doesn't help, I would recommend an 'Archive install'...

Good luck,

Marc
