New (yesterday) PB 1 GHz, OS X 10.2.3 (6H60)

Unable to connect to ISP (Qwest.net) with modem. Receive one of two errors.

LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests

or

Hangup (SIGUHP)

TCP/IP, PPP, etc. are correct. They can see me hit there server and report nothing else. I can connect to Apple's test server. I've tried v.92, v.90 and v.34 scripts. I have checked these forums and several others including Apple, but did not find any "current" modem issues discussed. Has anyone experienced problems with Qwest dial-up. If you have a custom script that works I would appreciate a link. Thanks.
