Hi Fellas,
Quick Question...
I bought a 128MB RAM chip for my old 800mhz iBook, can I use that in my Powerbook?
It is a Samsung and the #'s are:
PC133S-333-542
M464S1724DTS-L7A
128MB Sync 133MHz CL3
I also have a 256 Micron Chip with the following #'s:
CT32M64S4W7E.16F
256MB, SYNCH, 133MHz, CL2
Will either of these chips work with my Powerbook? I don't want to f**k it up...

Depends on your PowerBook...I can certainly say neither of those modules will do in the 12" AlBook or 17" AlBook as they use PC2100 & PC2700 DDR RAM respectively. TiBooks, however, use PC133 RAM.

I have a new TiBook 867.

I put them both in (one at a time) and it booted and recognized both. I didn't want to keep it in, just in case.
Is RAM cross compatable (mac and pc)? Because the 256 was from my Sony VAIO I think.

Well I *may* be incorrect, but I believe since you have a TiBook that the 256MB stick you have will work in it. Regardless, it won't screw anything up even if it doesn't work; you'll just boot your machine and either it'll fail to boot, or it'll boot and fail to recognize the RAM in the system profiler. Either way, removing the RAM will solve the issue...it's worth a shot!

Sounds great! You should be fine then! And yep, for the most part (extreme cases omitted) RAM is cross-compatible. Some high-end HyperX PC3500+ RAM won't work in PowerMacs, but those are unusual cases. Your RAM is certainly cross-compatible.
