What a pain, huh?! I have the same problem. And have just learned to live with it. Any feedback on this would be great!

I, too have the same problem. Some threads suggest it is because of the use of a third-party mouse (mine is Logitech cordless). Some say it is the software only for these third parties. Never have taken the time to delete software and/or try a different mouse. Just living with it. Anyone got any other ideas?

I find that crying about my issues helps me feel better.

In my Panther 7B21 install, my Intellimouse Optical (with no M$ drivers installed) works with the ignore feature just fine. I don't think it did in Jaguar.

No, it does obey the settings if you don't install the MS drivers, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having the extra buttons - not to mention the tracking speed is seriously limited without the Microsoft Mouse pref pane.

I believe the installation of 3rd party drivers overrode the setting. At least that was the case after I installed my Macally drivers.

the MS drivers seem to override these settings... I had the same problem, So I went in search of another way to boost my tracking speed... I found MouseZoom which will let you boost it to speeds far beyond any ill ever need.
