i have an icebook 500 that im getting ready to sell on ebay and some strange noises from the hard drive just started. i understand that harddrives make sounds when they're running but now it's very audible. this ibook has run great from the day i got it, no dead pixels no hardware problems at all. tonight for the first time i set up another account just to experiment with itunes. i'm going to be using my ipod with my friends computer and am going to set up a new account so our libraries don't overlap. immediatley after i set up the new account and rebooted into the new account a strange sound of "high pitched scratching" started to come from the left palmrest.

what is a going on here?

other than the noise i'm not experienceing any problems.

Um... Make sure its not coming from your speakers (mute the sound) cause Ive had high pitch noise coming from my ibook which seemed to be coming from other places, the problem was caused by Sound Studio... I explained the problem to my friend and he said its happened to him before too... Something with hte mic.
