it's connected to the comp with a green thing (that conducts electricity).

If you're up for some major tinkering, go ahead.

to change the keyboard as i said! i have italian keybnoard - which is a pain in the apple for programmming as the special keys ~,[,],{,} etc are reachable with many hits. i got a us keyboard that is far more practical with programming!

to change them safely, i guess i'll opt for (ab)using the geniuses at michigan avenue or woodfield..

There is a hack for changing the keys around. I saw it for os 9, but I can't say for sure if it works for X. (Don't know if it works globally like within a open firmware hack or something) Check out xl8yourmac, I think I saw it there. G'luck.

I googled for changing the keyboard, and found onlky how to change single keys. I'm not interested in that. but changing the keyboard. Italian and US have about 10-20 keys in different places, and nearly all doubles or upper cases are differnt. I would practically have to change at least half of the keys - and there are also 4 different keys (different size or shape). Removing 20 - 80 % (I have not counted how many I would have to remove to change their position) and replace them or change them to the keys that are on the other keyboard seems less effective to me than just figuring how to change it. I immagine the admin of macfora knows, as he has replaced his (and my US is his old, with 1 key replaced) .. and if he didn't change it himself, I'll just wait untill I have other needs to visit Michigan Ave or Woodfield, and let them take care of it.
