What KIND of paint do I ask to ask for (painting iBook cover)

Suppose I went to a HomeHardware thing, or whatever shop, what kind of pain do I have to ask for?

You should be painting the inside of the iBook's plastics after removing the white paint with alcohol.

Nearly any Krylon type enamel will be fine.

if you paint the outside of the ibook it will scratch, peel and look like shyte, I'd really recommend against it.

If you want to cover the outside of the iBook try using vinyl film (the stuff used on outdoor signs). The vinyl film thing used to be popular with older powerbook owners.

I've got a bunch of it in matte greyish-silver (leftover from a project) if you want to try.

Otherwise start looking online or at local sign shops if they'll sell to you.

good luck

Do they sell it somewhere else!? I don't want to buy paint online.

Otherwise, is there any chance you could give me your paint

Is this OK? It says emanel, but not Krylon ( I'd suppose Krylon is the brand? )

Perhaps I wasn't clear.

You can buy about any brand of good spray enamel at a local hardware or large dept. store .

Krylon is a brand as is Rustoleum.

I was noting that if you wanted the vinyl film you'd likely have to look online.

Metallic colors will produce a more uneven finish than will solid colors like black, blue, red etc.

Isn't there a possibility to just put some sort of poster inside the case instead of painting? (More convenient if you want graphics)

Sure you can do that. When done well it looks pretty cool.

I was thinking of doing the same thing.

If you want a true professional job check out Mac Skinz.

You are limited only by your imagination.

good luck

I suggest that you test whatever paint you try on some clear plastic like the inside of a CD case. This is because many paints will not look as you expect them when seen through clear plastic (metallic paints, for one, won't look good at all).
