ibook modem on hold

	i am new to the mac and since i am unable to get dsl or cable internet in my apartment right now i am stuck with dial up....my service provider has the v92 protocol and i believe with my new ibook 900mhz with 10.2.6 i have the v92 modem....i also have call waiting and caller id on my line but i cant seem to get the modem on hold function to work....does this not work on the ibooks modem or what?.......any help with this would be really nice thanks.....
